- Once inhaled, applied or consumed, their affects can be found in the brain in 20 seconds, in the blood in 2 minutes and affect every cell in the body in 20 minutes.
- They can physically influence the chemical reactions in our body by interacting with our cells and also interrupt neurotransmitter pathways that are not serving us. They can chemically change how we react emotionally.

I purchased my first essential oils in May 2016 because I wanted to start making my own skin products, cleaning products and generally bring my healthcare back into the home without using so many pills and pharmaceuticals.

Little did I know I would barely scratch the surface of what they were capable of in the months following, and that while doTERRA are indeed an essential oils business - they are also so much more than that.

Nature doesn't really make mistakes, and all that we need is available to us on Earth.

We just need to go back to basics.

Essential Oils are like plugging a tap into the earth and harvesting the oily goodness it provides. They are an incredibly accessible way for us to utilise the supportive and protective properties that plants use to fight off environmental threats.

Everyone has a basic understanding of the healing properties of plants.
We know lemon juice does wonders for cleansing and detoxing our insides, and we drink it with ginger when we're sick. We know drinking peppermint tea helps settle an upset stomach after eating, and we know lavender has a calming effect and has been used for years to help people sleep. My family's home has always had tea tree and eucalyptus in the laundry for cleaning, and I'm sure if you ask your parents or grandparents you will find traces of essential oils or herbs being used in the home like this too.

There are many essential oils on the market, but I encourage you to (in fact you must) do your research.

There are a couple of reasons why I decided to use doTERRA oils.

As I talk about in my classes, the reason why I choose doTERRA oils in particular comes down to purity and quality, integrity of the business through genuine philanthropy, and the ability to help others create freedom in their lives.

Purity and quality

doTERRA are the leading distributor in the world for essential oils with over 4 million customers, and that is largely due to their dedication to purity and quality. There is not a single batch of essential oils that get sent out to customers that is contaminated or adulterated in any way. These oils are considered a step above organic (however wanky that may sound). If you care enough about the quality of food going into your stomach, you should care just as much about what you're inhaling and putting on your skin.

If you weren't aware, some of the organic products you're buying only require 95% of the ingredients to be certified organic and those organic requirements differ in every country. doTERRA weren't satisfied with this (and why should we be?) so they designed a new benchmark called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade which means 100% purity of oil with no contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, fillers, synthetic ingredients or any changes to the state of the oil whatsoever. It is simply filtered for natural bi-products like dirt and twigs from the harvesting... the way mother nature intended.

Speaking of which, the growing and harvesting process is where the dedication to purity really begins.

co-impact sourcing

Rather than building and owning all their own farms in the U.S, doTERRA partner with local farms in over 40 different countries in order to source the highest quality of essential oils available.
More than half of those countries are considered developing nations - which really means more than half of them need our help.
Sourcing from either their natural country of origin or the best environment due to humidity, soil condition and sustainability practices, yields a higher quality oil. But this Co-Impact Sourcing model wasn't designed to just benefit doTERRA - it's called co-impact for a reason.
It was developed to create long-term, mutually beneficial supplier partnerships while creating sustainable jobs and providing reliable income in underdeveloped areas.

The farmers are treated ethically, and provided on-time payments at a fair price. In fact, the farmers in Somaliland that harvest Frankincense are paid up to 10 times more than their felldoTERRA work directly with those farmers, and not with the middlemen, in order to ensure they have acceptable working conditions and are actually receiving the payments.

Please take a moment to watch even just one of these video's about doTERRA's co-impact sourcing model.

If there was a ever a time for conscious enterprise, it is now.

And I know I can rest assured that I'm voting for sustainable and ethical business practices every time I purchase doTERRA oils.

It is after this process of sourcing, harvesting and distilling occurs that doTERRA continue to work with the countries. They don't just pay them and walk away, which leads me to my next point.

healing hands foundation

The Healing Hands Foundation is doTERRA's non-profit organisation, and they work closely with the developing communities where our oils are sourced from to provide hope, free them of disease and poverty, and empower them with the tools needed to become self-reliant.
100% of all donations to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation or proceeds from certain item sales (Hope oil, Rose hand lotion) go directly to those receiving aid. This is possible because of doTERRA's generous commitment to cover all overhead and administrative costs of the foundation.

The children in Haiti (where we source Vetiver oil) used to walk hours each day to collect clean drinking water. Because of the HHF, they now have access to fresh water from a faucet.

In Somalia (where Frankincense is sourced) the farmers requested that doTERRA build schools for their sons. doTERRA agreed - on the condition that their daughters be allowed education too.
Get's me right in the feels every time...

The HHF also partner with and support other non-profits like Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) and Days for Girls.
OUR Rescue exists to rescue children from sex trafficking by utilising some of the world’s experts (former CIA, Navy SEALs and Special Ops) in extraction operations and anti-child trafficking efforts. They work with law enforcement in the countries where they rescue children to ensure that everything is done legally and with the support of the local authorities. doTERRA's Hope oil proceeds go directly to this company, and they still to this day distribute that same oil with emergency help line numbers on the inside of the label to those children in need.
Days for Girls works to provide every girl in the world the education, safety, and dignity that they deserve through direct distribution of sustainable feminine hygiene kits. It's not just about comfort, it's about the ability to go to school and get an education every day of the year, to leave the house and walk down the street without being shamed. Days for Girls has reached women and girls in over 100 countries, providing them with freedom and opportunity that they previously never had.

If none of that makes you cry a little thinking about the real impact these initiatives are creating, I don't know what will.

This does however bring me to my last point, which is helping OTHERS create freedom in their lives. doTERRA offer everyone the opportunity to create an income sharing these oils with others who need them. This income can either pay for your oils so you get them for free, add some extra dollars to your monthly income, or completely replace your annual income and surpass it.

If this piques your interest, read on about how you can work with me.

It's not just about the price and purity, it's that and so much more.

It's not just a transaction when you purchase doTERRA essential oils, it's part of an eco-system.

If you would like to get your hands on some of the top essential oils on the market, and contribute to this conscious eco-system I just described, all you need to do is ask.
